- Add butter or margarine.
- Add apples. Cook until they are tender.
- Add the sugar on top of the apples and stir.
- Continue cooking until the apples are caramelized.

You can try using different kinds of apples. You can try mixing other ingredients in. One of the popular options is to fry biscuits in with the apples.
